Elvis - june 30


1955

As most other days this year Elvis made a performance. This time Elvis performed in
"Curtis Gordon's Radio Ranch" Mobile, Alabama just like the day before this.

1956

Elvis performed at the Mosque Theater, Richmond, Virginia at 5.00 and 8.00 p.m.
Immediately after this show Elvis aboard the Railroad train again and returned to New York.

1960

Elvis arrived home at 3.00 p.m. and spent the evening at home with
Vernon, Anita, Gene en Louise Smith.

1961

Elvis hosted a party for Red West, who was to be married the next day to Elvis'
secretary Pat Boyd.

1966

Elvis overdubbed vocals for three songs from 7.00 p.m. till midnight on MGM's recording stage.

1968

Another day was needed to complete the taping of the show.
Once again Elvis performed "If I Can Dream". The fifth take was used for the broadcast.

1973

Elvis performed at the Omni, Atlanta at 3.00 and 8.30 p.m. Both times the crowd was 17143.
At 3:00 p.m Elvis wore "Thunderbird" suit with original belt and blue cape. At 20:30 he wore
"Nail studded" suit with original belt and gold cape.



 1974

Elvis performed at the Auditorium Arena, Omaha Nebraska at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m. At 3:00 p.m the
crowd was 10246 and Elvis wore "Blue Swirl" suit with original belt. At 8:30 p.m. the crowd
was 10311 and Elvis wore "Peacock" suit with original belt.





1976

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 16000
and Elvis wore "Blue egyptian bird" suit with original belt.

 1955

Elvis performed in "Curtis Gordon's Radio Ranch" Mobile, Alabama

1956

Elvis and his party took a chartered plane to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they caught a
Delta flight to New York City, where Elvis was fitted for a tux, for the rehearsal for the
Steve Allen Show. After that Elvis took a train to Richmond.

1960

Elvis was released by the studio and flew to St. Louis with Gene Smith.
There he rented a car and drove back to Memphis.

1966

After a 7.00 p.m. cast insurance medical exam, Elvis resumed soundtrack recording at the MGM
recording stage till 3.00 a.m.

1968

Rehearsals started at 9.00 a.m. Then at 6.90 and 8.00 p.m. Elvis taped the two stand-up
segments, this time not only in front of a live audience but with a full orchestra,
conducted by Billy Goldenberg

1973

Elvis performed at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 17143 and Elvis wore
"Orange sunburst" suit with original belt and orange cape.







1974

Elvis performed at the Municipal Auditorium, Kansas City, Missouri at 2:30 and 8.30 p.m.
Both times the crowd was 10400 and at 2:30 p.m. Elvis wore the Egyptian suit with original belt.
At 8:30 Elvis wore "1974 American eagle" with original belt. Note how happy and healthy Elvis
look this evening :)






1975

Elvis had surgery on his foot in Memphis.

1976

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 11900 and Elvis
wore the "White Egyptian bird" suit with "Inca gold leaf" suit belt.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Airman`s Club" Keesler Air Force Base, outside Biloxi, Mississippi.

1956

Elvis performed at the College Park, Charleston, South Carolina

1957

Elvis appeared briefly on stage with Danny Thomas at Thomas' Shower of Stars to benefit
St. Jude's Hospital at Russwood Park in Memphis. The show included movie stars Jane Russell
and Susan Hayward, country singer Ferlin Huskey, pop singer Roberta Sherwood and comedian
Lou Costello

1966

Elvis worked on the new soundtrack from 7.00 p.m. to 2.45 a.m. at Radio Recorders with
a complete contingent of musicians from Nashville.

1968

At 9.00 a.m. work began with the taping of the gospel medley for the NBC special.

1973

Elvis performed at the Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis, Missouri at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was
12000 and Elvis wore "Nail studded" suit with original belt and golden cape.

1974

Elvis performed at the Arena, Milwaukee, Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 11800 and Elvis
wore "Turquoise Phoenix" suit with original belt.





1976

Elvis performed at the Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 19000
and Elvis wore "White Egyptian Bird" suit with "Inca gold leaf" suit belt.

1955

1956

Elvis performed at the Bell Auditorium, Augusta, Georgia

1959

In order to be able to stay in Paris as long as possible, Elvis hired a limousine to get him
back to the barracks.

1966

Elvis reported to MGM for a music meeting and wardrobe fittings for Double Trouble,
which was for the time being called "You're Killing Me".

1968

At 9.00 a.m. Elvis rehearsed the gospel medley. At 6.00 p.m. the first show began in front of
a live audience.

1970

Under the alias of John Carpenter Elvis flew home to Memphis from Dallas.
( Does anyone know why he choose this name? )

1973

Elvis performed at the Cincinnati Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 13060
and Elvis proudly wore the 1973 Americn eagle suit with second belt and the red cape.






1974

Elvis performed at the Indiana University Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana at 8:30 p.m.
The crowd was 16000 and Elvis wore the "Blue Swirl" suit with original belt.





1976

Elvis performed at the Capital Center Arena, Landover, Maryland at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m. Both times
the crowd was 20000. At 2:30 p.m Elvis wore the "Blue Egyptian bird" suit with original belt
and at 8:30 he wore "White Egyptian bird" suit with "Indian feather" suit belt.

1954

Elvis got a telephone call from Marion Keisker, to try the song 'Without You'.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Slavonian Lodge" Biloxi, Mississippi.

1956

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Charlotte, North Carolina.

1957

Very impatient Elvis got off the train in Lafayette, rented a car and drove the rest of
the way to Memphis. This would be his first night in his new home.

1966

Elvis flew back to Los Angeles with Red West, Jerry Schilling, Marty Lacker and Charlie Hodge,
because his bus needed a new engine. The others had left a few days earlier, driving Elvis'
new black Cadillac Eldorado convertible and several other cars plus a trailer full
of motorcycles.

1968

There was a rehearsal of the entire Burbank show between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
On the set Elvis sung a birthday song for the Colonel on the melody of "It Hurts Me".

1973

Elvis performed at the Civic Center Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 8:30 p.m.
The crowd was 14296 and Elvis wore "Pharao" suit with "Nail studded" suit belt and yellow cape.







1974

Elvis performed at the Fair and Expo Center's Freedom Hall, Louisville, Kentucky at 8:30 p.m.
The crowd was 20000 and Elvis wore the "Peacock" suit with original belt.







 1976

Elvis performed at the Capital Center Arena, Landover, Maryland at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m.
Both times the crowd was 13500. Both times Elvis wore "Blue Egyptian bird" suit with original
belt.  Elvis was visited backstage by Elton John.







1977

Elvis performed at the Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana at 8:30 p.m.
The crowd was 18000 and Elvis wore the Mexican sundial suit with the original belt for
the last time. This was the last performance Elvis ever did.
After a very good show Elvis and Ginger returned to Memphis.

1955

Elvis performed in Schreveport "Louisiana Hayride" Louisiana

1956

Elvis performed at the Sports Arena, Savannah, Georgia at 7.00 and 9.30 p.m.
Elvis told local reporters: "I can't believe that music could cause anybody to do anything wrong.
 And what I'm doing is nothing but music.

1957

Finally with all of his duties completed, Elvis left for Memphis by train.

1960

Elvis drove to Las Vegas for the weekend where he attended some shows.

1961

Elvis arrived at RCA's Studio B in Nashville to cut new singles material.
However, the session starts, with three songs that would end up on his Pot Luck album in 1962.
The sessions lasted till early morning hours.

1968

Elvis rehearsed from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for the informal part of the show.
Afterwards he spent some time with the dancers and the Blossoms practicing the gospel medley.
From 3.00 to 5.00 p.m. the Guitar Man segment was rehearsed by the entire crew.
At 6.15 p.m. there was a press conference.

1973

Elvis performed at the Civic Center Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was
14335 and Elvis wore "Blue rain" suit with original belt and blue cape.








1974

Elvis performed at the St. John Arena, Columbus, Ohio at 8:00 p.m. The crowd was 13500 and Elvis
wore the 1974 American Eagle suit with original belt.







1976

Elvis performed at the Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo, New York at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 17950
and Elvis wore "White Egyptian bird" suit with "Indian feather suit" belt.






1977

Elvis performed at the Riverfront Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 16795
and Elvis wore the "Mexican sundial" suit with original belt.
When the air-conditioning in his hotel broke down Elvis left to look for a new hotel.
After an energetic performance Elvis flew home to Memphis to get a good night's rest.
